13/01/2012: New injuries hit Edy Reja and Lazio

As the new day begins more problems emerge for Lazio. With Brocchi and Makinwa long absent from the field some new injuries came up. Radu, Scaloni, Konko, Hernanes and Sculli are all in doubt for the Atalanta game, making the life of coach Edy Reja even more difficult. Yesterday he tried a 4-4-2 system in a friendly against the Primavera. The tactics of the team depend on the recovery of Radu and Hernanes. The Romanian and the Brazilian along with Scaloni trained separately from the group and today is an important day for they recovery.

Reja on the other hand is adamant Lazio must get a new midfielder. Sporting director Tare is trying to secure such a player and he has turned to Genoa pair Constant or Kucka. And while Tare is saying Lazio is evaluating Constant Genoa president Preziosi says Constant is not the player the Biancoceleste are looking for. A transfer of Kucka is highly unlikely as he is co-owned by Inter and they probably won’t let him go. The situation is the same with the German Merkel as he is co-owned by Milan and they will certainly not let their jewel move to Rome. If a deal with Genoa is struck it will see Sculli going back to the Grifoni.

Another target of the roman based club is Cesena’s Parolo. He may swap his place with the Czech forward Kozak who sees not much playing time as he is fourth choice for Lazio. Some news emerged the past days the Biancoceleste are trying to land Alan Dzagoev. His contract with CSKA Moscow expires this June and the Russians might lose him for free. The problem here is Lazio must offload either one of Makinwa or Carrizo to free one non-EU spot for Dzagoev.Out of favor Stendardo seems to have accepted a move to Atalanta, but Siena have their eyes set on the defender also. Right full back Cavanda might go on loan to Ascoli or Vicenza to gain some experience.

Lazio is also looking for a forward as they struggle to score goals. The hottest rumor is the coming if Ivica Olic. As the player himself stated he will not move until June and wants to stay at Bayern Munich, but only if he receives more than a one-year contract. It is said the Biancoceleste have offered a 2 year contract with a 2 million per year salary. However Juventus and Wolfsburg have confirmed their interest in the player.
