30/01/2012: Transfer Latest: Cissé at Fiumicino Airport

In a day full of twists and turns, Djibril Cissé has become the most likely mercato mover before tomorrow's early evening deadline.

His move has been well documented in the Italian media today but it took until late afternoon for British media to report the news. At Fiumicino airport, Cissé is said to be boarding a flight and is quoted as saying:

"I do not want to talk about my situation, tomorrow you will know more".

Progress has not been made with regards to Keisuke Honda. Claudio Lotito is apparently trying to finalise the deal late tonight in Rome. It is not clear how advanced negotiations are but he cannot officially sign for the club until a non-EU spot is made available. Lazio hope to make that spot available by selling Juan Pablo Carrizo to River Plate. The Argentine club are strapped for cash so they are offering 20 year-old midfielder Ezequiel Cirigliano in exchange. It is believed they want a transfer fee, even if Carrizo is included in the deal.

Cirigliano's agent met with Lazio representatives at the ATAHotel in Milan late afternoon. Speaking to the media, he said it was his attention to bring his client to Italy and that the situation with Lazio is evolving.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Tare is negotiating the Carrizo - Cirigliano deal at the Hilton Hotel in Milan and will be present at the ATAHotel tomorrow with a view to doing late business.

Also speaking to Lazio representatives today was the agent of Angelo Palombo of Sampdoria and veteran Azzurri striker Pippo Inzaghi. A move for Palombo was quashed but rumours continue to exist about a late bid for the defensive midfielder. Inzaghi is believed to be closer to Siena. The same agent was spotted speaking to Parma's President on two separate occasions today, suggesting that they may be closer to Palombo.

Michele Pazienza's agent was also present at ATAHotel. He did not speak to Lazio representatives. Pedro Luis Cavanda's agent was also there, apparently to force a move to Novara but the move has fallen through, much to the agent's annoyance.

Makinwa's agent stated in clear terms that his client has no intention of leaving Rome.

As it stands, Cissé looks set for QPR with Honda expected to be finalised tomorrow once Lazio and River Plate reach an agreement. Cirigliano could be included in the crucial deal but if not, it seems Angelo Palombo could be an alternative.
