02/02/2012: Bocci: "Antonio wants to succeed with Lazio"

Massimiliano Bocci has spoken out in defence of his client who came under fire from Lazio fans worldwide for agreeing to join the club who are fierce rivals of the Roma, who Candreva has claimed to support:

"I can assure you Antonio wants to succeed with Lazio. We spoke after the game yesterday, and his voice was quivering."

Regarding his vociferous support for Roma, his agent played down such remarks, but did mention that Edy Reja spoke to him about his previous choice of words:

"Reja spoke to him and asked for an explanation and the conversation ended with a pat on the shoulder. The coach has already given him more confidence and Rocchi has given him a hug. Antonio feels at home now and is in seventh heaven because in training he scored two goals. We will see if he plays on Sunday."

Bocci also pointed out that the transfer was anything but a last minute deal:

"Actually, Tare has been following him since the summer. In the summer, the deal was not a possibility but when Lazio knocked on the door, Antonio did not hesitate to answer. He said he wanted Lazio, he wanted to fight for Europe."

Bocci also said that Candreva is a big fan of Hernanes and has massive respect for captain Rocchi but he was keen to emphasise that his client likes to keep a lower profile:

"I would like to point out that Antonio does not have Facebook profiles and that any that are in circulation are not his. This is our way of working and he accepts it. He has a big goal; to win the confidence of his new fans and if he scores that important goal in that game (the derby), I hope he runs to the Curva Nord, because he deserves to."
