14/03/2012: L'Equipe: 'Ederson agrees with Lazio'

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Lyon midfielder Ederson will play for Lazio next season.

The Brazilian, a long time transfer target of Lazio, has a contract expiring in June and is therefore free to negotiate with other clubs. Relationships with Lyon hit a low when contract negotiations broke down leaving the player being frozen out until a new deal is signed. L'Equipe claim that he has found an agreement with Lazio on a 4-year deal and will ply his trade in Rome next season.

As there would be no transfer fee this would prove a massive loss for Lyon, who had been hoping the player renew, as he cost the club 14 million Euros in 2008 from Nice. It would also be Lazio's second high profile 'free' signing in two years following the success of Miroslav Klose last summer.

No official statement has yet been released but the player is expected - again by L'Equipe - in Rome to sign.
