  01/04/2012: Bring Back Hernanes
email print
Edy Reja made a big call this weekend as he dropped Hernanes in favour of playing a 4-3-1-2 formation. The bold move appears to have backfired as Lazio were defeated with ease by Parma yesterday evening.

Hernanes was voted "Flop of the Match" at against both Catania and Cagliari and a week off always seemed likely in light of those performances. However, Reja's decision to drop Hernanes and go for a narrow 4-3-1-2 system against a team known to have good wingers is not going down well with Laziali in Rome.

Mauri was apparently favoured over Hernanes for the trequartista role as he was more comfortable in the role during training this week.

Now the fans want Hernanes back. The player is said to be short in confidence and discouraged by the decision to drop him from the starting line-up. Given that the normally quiet and passive Hernanes was critical of Lazio's transfer policy in Brazilian media a fortnight ago, the club know that the Hernanes situation needs to be managed with care.
