12/04/2012: Formello Report after Juventus - Lazio
email print

After the hard-fought battle in Torino yesterday it was to soon for the players to fully train today, but they had a late session at Formello to give some clues as to who will start against Novara.

Coach Edy Reja's biggest problem is these days if he's going to risk the fullbacks Stefan Radu and Abdoulay Konko. The injury prone players have been struggling all season and is still not 100% but at this time of the season Reja will surely have to risk them when he can to secure 3rd place. Today both of them did physiotherapy work in the gym, but they are both highly doubtful for the trip to Novara in only three days.

Edy Reja will also have to do without Stefano Mauri and Libor Kozak. Mauri received his 4th yellow card of the season, while Kozak is suspended after his red card.

It seems likely that Reja will go for a 4-2-3-1 again with Hernanes replacing Mauri. The Brazilian has been frustrated lately after being placed on the bench and surely have something to prove. On the sides there will likely be Candreva and Gonzalez. Diakite and Biava who are playing well together these days will again we the centrebacks. Next to Ledesma in the midfield one of Cana, Brocchi or Matuzalem will play. Up front captain Tommaso Rocchi will get another chance, with Emiliano Alfaro on the bench as the only available backup.

The official website also released a statement on the latest injuries today:

Senad Lulic is training by himself and his progress will be evaluated again tomorrow. Andre Dias and Stephen Makinwa visited the Padeia clinic yesterday, and are now both training in the gym and doing some light work on the field. Konko and Radu are only able to do physiotherapy for now, while Marius Stankevicius did work in the gym.

Miroslav Klose is currently in Munich where he is being treated MW Zentrum facility by Prof. Muller Wohlfahrt.

Why, do you think, our players are so vulnerable to injury? Their age, or the methodology of physical training? No team in Serie A that is as vulnerable to injury as our team.
