14/05/2012: Reja: Unfortunately we had too many injuries

Lazio’s win over Inter last night gives the Biancoceleste the fourth place, but they miss on the Champions League once again. Coach Edy Reja was disappointed: “It’s a shame, it was enough to have injuries for half season to distant us from the Champions League, that was in our reach. I thank the guys who have shown so much energy, with a pair of goals in January we could have achieved more, but it was a great championship anyway, but overall finishing fourth is great and the guys were great to support me” – said Reja for Sky.

Reja’s contract expires this summer and some names have been linked with his job: “My future? We will meet with the president and we will see what we can do. If we reach an agreement I will stay, otherwise we will remain good friends. This month we will talk about new players. It is normal when you are employed to do your job regardless if you stay or not.”
Reja still is bitter over the injury crisis in Lazio this season. “If I had Lulic sooner we would be celebrating the Champions League spot now. Reinforcements? We will talk new players that have more class then the current ones, but it would not be easy improving a team that reached fourth spot at reasonable prices. You will have to have more creativity and monitor the whole market. That will take a lot of personnel” – finished Reja.
