In an interview with Radio Mana Mana and as reported by ANSA today, Antonio Caliendo has confirmed a deal is in place between Lazio and Ederson. “My client feels confident in moving to Lazio as club president [Lotito] have been asking for his services over the last five years”, stated the agent and continued: “there are only minor details left to deal with, but they are of secondary character and nothing that could change the fact that Ederson will become a Lazio player”. The parties met today and everything seems to be in place for the player to put pen to paper.
Ederson comes from the French powerhouse Lyon, to which he was transferred from Nice in 2008 for a reported fee of €15 million. The club failed to convince the midfielder, who mostly has been used on the wing in recent years while having made his name known as an attacking midfielder, of extending his ending contract and will come to Lazio on a free transfer.
In Ederson’s first seasons at Lyon he was a given starter for his team, featuring 45 times in all competitions in his first season and 37 times his second season with the league winners. Since then he has had a hard time featuring as regularly and comes from a year where he played 20 games in total, scoring twice in the process.
