Corriere dello Sport carry an article on the rebirth of Mauro Zarate. As reported by LazioLand.com yesterday, the former star striker has expressed a desire to remain at Lazio for the duration of his career and in training, the signs are that he means it. The newspaper have noted changes in his behaviour from the player of years gone by. For the first time in three years, Zarate has turned up with an acceptable level of body fat and on this occasion, he is taking time to sign autographs for the fans. He appears to have matured following his relatively unsuccessful spell at Inter Milan. Vladimir Petkovic's willingness to evaluate him is causing him to fight for his place and in a press conference yesterday, Tommaso Rocchi made it clear that the dressing room has never had any issues with Mauro.

Tuttosport claim that Milan may look at Francelino Matuzalem as Max Allegri has expressed a need for an addition in midfield. Matuzalem has yet to turn up for pre-season training and on his personal Facebook profile he has admitted that, although he will return, he may not stay. He is blaming his failure to turn up in Rome on the loss of his mobile phone and certain documents.

Luigi Salomone in Il Tempo has named Douglas as the frontrunning defensive reinforcement. There are also two new names that have emerged in today's media - Mathías Abero of Fernando Muslera's old club Nacional and Catania's lively midfielder Cristian Llama, who could be the go-to option should Lazio fail with their advance for Federico Balzaretti.

These are translations of rumours gathered by "oizaL" of biancocelesti.org).
