  02/08/2012: Fiuggi: Day Three
email print

After having given the players a rest from the morning training, at least all players featuring in the friendly game the evening before, Lazio resumed full training at 18.00 today. Only Klose was spotted before lunch, as the German continues his build up in order to become ready enough to start training with the rest of the squad at Fiuggi, while the others spent their time mainly at the hotel and recovering physically.

Before the work with ball started during the evening session, Petkovic gathered all players around him to go through tactical and technical details spotted and instructed against Nuova Circe. The players listened carefully as the Bosnian explained the pros and cons with the performance of the team in offense as well as defense.

Just as customary at this point, the players were divided into smaller groups and worked on dribbling skills, running with and without the ball and other offensive exercises. Towards the end of the 90 minutes long training Ringoni took over the proceedings and demanded the players to work on speed and stamina. Three different stations were set up, including running with bungy-like chords attached to the back of the players and beating a track with different obstacles.

The players seemed to be in good mood, indicated by the time spent signing autographs and taking pictures with supporters present at Fiuggi after the end of the training session, and no wonder as the fans chanted through the hour and a half – giving the team a taste of what it is like to be playing on a Sunday afternoon.
