Corriere dello Sport are once again on the debacle that is Lazio's mercato. Over the weekend, it emerged that Claudio Lotito would meet with President Preziosi over Genoa to discuss transfers. A major exchange was proposed by the media, involving Lazio's wantaways, Carrizo, Matuzalem and Sculli and Genoa's Granqvist, Kucka and Anotnelli. That exchange is now being deemed as impossible. Lotito wants Preziosi to commit to his promise to take Beppe Sculli back for 3 million now that the match-fixing scandal that surrounded him has died down. Lotito also hopes Presiozi will take Matuzalem off Lazio's hands. In exchange, Lotito is considering Granqvist as a replacement for Guglielmo Stendaro and Alexander Merkel, the young midfielder who is reminiscent of Edy Reja in the way he has been swapping clubs in the last few seasons.

The newspaper also follows the Vlad Marin saga in detail. reported on the matter yesterday and the latest development is that Roberto Mancini is claiming to have no knowledge of the deal, suggesting that the club makes the moves and not him.

There is also an in-depth analysis of Lazio's goalscoring woes, a fear that is shared by many as Lazio have failed to score against decent opposition in friendlies so far.

La Repubblica and Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Lotito and Preziosi are discussing a swap deal involving Granqvist and Carrizo, contrary to earlier reports. Tuttosport's view differs again as they believe that the two presidents are thrashing out a deal for Kucka while they could go head-to-head for Juventus' Reto Ziegler.

A number of papers are also reporting that Stefan Radu is ready for battle and that the Lazio defender will commence individual training before joining up with the others at a later date.
