Corriere dello Sport focus on the drawn out contract saga of Mobido Diakite'. The French defender has not signed a new deal despite his agent stating his client's desire to remain at the capital yesterday. Lotito has offered a figure in the region of 600,000 euro for a period of five years but Mobido along with his agent are pushing for 1 million. Lotito has entered bonuses that would see Diakite' earn what is effectively 700,000 and he has even proposed a one-year renewal for the Frenchman with a buyout clause included. This could be seen as Lotito trying to protect his market value, knowing that Juventus are snooping around at the present time, waiting to see how it all unfolds.

Corriere dello Sport are now suggesting that Lazio may be in the market for two centre-backs with the uncertainty looming over Diakite's future and Granqvist and Xandao remain as the leading candidates. The newspaper expects Lotito and Tare to also focus on signing Dennis Aogo of Hamburg. The German left-back of Nigerian descent is also capable of filling in at defensive midfielder and may fill two clear voids in the Lazio side. Igli Tare said yesterday that Lazio are concentrating in investing in the right way, and not signing the players for the sake of making up the numbers and Aogo may be the type of option that is appealing this summer.

There is also an in-depth focus on Hernanes for the second day running. They newspaper claims that Hernanes would have been sold if Edy Reja remained in charge and that it is becoming more and more evident that Vladimir Petkovic is struggling to find a role for him. Petkovic is expected to keep faith in a 4-2-3-1 for the friendly with Malmo on Thursday and it will be interesting to see if the Brazilian features in the starting line-up.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio may turn to Pescara's talented 20 year-old centre-back Marco Capuano in their search for a centre-back. The two clubs have been in constant contact this summer and a deal could be feasible.

La Repubblica focus on the omission of Javier Garrido and Emiliano Alfaro from Lazio's Europa League squad for the two legs against Mura 05, as reported in LazioLand.com's Gossip News yesterday evening. Meanwhile the Gazzetta are surprised that Ederson was not included on the list. It appears to be a clear indication that the Spaniard and Uruguayan are indeed on the market and that the Brazilian is unlikely to be fit for the Serie A opener against Atalanta, contrary to previous reports. On a related note, the location of the Europa League games have been switched as both parties and UEFA agreed on that decision. Lazio will now play Mura 05 in Maribor on the 23rd August and at the Olimpico the following week.

The final rumour today involves Michele Pazienza. As Lazio's own 'pazienza' wears thin, Tuttosport reckon the club may move for the ex-Udinese midfielder, who is out of favour at Juventus.
