13/09/2012: OFFICIAL: Alfaro joins Al Wasl
email print
Uruguayan international forward Emiliano Alfaro has signed for UAE side, Al Wasl. Opportunities were set to be limited for the forward at Lazio despite the fact that Alfaro only joined Lazio eight months ago. Vladimir Petkovic had made it clear that he had too many strikers and Lazio tried to ease that problem by negotiating transfers for Alfaro all summer. There were at least four offers on the table on deadline day but Alfaro wished to remain in Serie A with Genoa only for Claudio Lotito to refuse the deal.

Perhaps in desparation and in search of time on the field., Alfaro has signed for Al Wasl on loan. Lazio will earn approximately 500,000 euro from the deal and a buyout clause of 3.5 million euro has been set. There have been suggestions that the buyout clause is obligatory but that has yet to be confirmed.
