  13/09/2012: Hernanes signs until 2017

Brazilian midfielder Hernanes has agreed a deal with Lazio that will see the ex-Sao Paolo star remain at the first club of the capital until 2017. The new contract will see Hernanes earn an additional 300,000 euro per year - given him a wage that is equal to Miroslav Klose and Mauro Zarate earnings.

The news comes a day after Mobido Diakite's agent insisted that his client merely wanted a pay rise to stay at Lazio. Diakite' is asking for 1 million euro plus bonuses that, if achieved, would see the defender paid a similar wage to Stefan Radu and more than Andre Dias, Giuseppe Biava and Mickael Ciani.

It was also revealed that the defender turned down a move to Fiorentina as he regarded Lazio to be 'one of the most prestigious clubs in Italy' and would only leave for Juventus, Inter or Milan - Diakite's agent set up a deal with the latter only for Lazio to decline the terms.
