Lazio's last-gasp win over Cagliari on Saturday night and there encounter tomorrow with Catania in the Coppa Italia is forcing the media to talk about on-field issues, which at this stage, is a welcome break from the mercato circus.

Corriere dello Sport focus on "-5" - the gap between Juventus and Lazio who lie in second, two points ahead of Napoli by virtue of their points deduction. No mention of Lazio's incredible comeback as Sunday's events take precedence. Juventus 'collapsed' - that is the official line of the media.

Vladimir Petkovic's words after the game rang true on Sunday and La Repubblica have pointed this out:

"These are three golden points. We're second, we gave a good signal to the League and now those chasing us will play with more pressure."

Petkovic also stressed that the team would have to improve to maintain their current points average.

Meanwhile La Repubblica continued with a quote from a Jovanotti song about not being afraid to fall and wanting to fly, using it as an indicator of the mentality required by Lazio.

As for the Catania game, several players are in doubt at present but none more so than Andre Dias who, according to Tuttosport, has pain in his hip flexor which is one of two muscles that links thigh to pelvis. As a result, it is probably quite likely that Petkovic will take no chances. Meanwhile, Ederson is expected back in full training next week.
