  27/03/2013: Lotito looks at Luca

Lazio President Claudio Lotito is said to be keeping a close eye on Atalanta midfielder Luca Cigarini as he looks to profit from Mobido Diakite's escape from Rome.

Napoli are favourites to land the French centre-back and although Diakite' would be able to leave without any compensation being owed, Lotito is hoping his 'good relationship' with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will earn him a discount on Cigarini who Napoli co-own with Atalanta.

The midfielder moved to Napoli from Atalanta in 2009, but he failed to deliver on his early promise in Bergamo and soon found himself loaned out to Sevilla. Napoli later let him move back to Bergamo in the hope that familiar surroundings would help him rediscover his form. Cigarini has indeed found his old form and has helped establish Atalanta in Serie A.

Lotito is considering purchasing both Napoli and Atalanta's 50% stakes in the player, and is hoping that Napoli reduce their price if Diakite' moves down the road to Naples.
