  03/05/2013: Interview with Antonio Rozzi
email print

Antonio, why did you decide to renew?
"Lately I have said many stupid things about my future with the Lazio shirt for which I am very sorry. Today I signed up with the first team of the capital until 2016! I believe they have seen alot in me and I will give my best to become an important player for this team. I am glad that the story continues."

How do you feel you have grown with the first team?
"Many have told me of my progress and I am happy with this. Training with the first team is more difficult but I certainly think I have gained alot mentally as I was somewhat insecure before."

How does it feel as a fan to enter the field with the Lazio shirt?
"There is a lot of emotion and adrenaline. You always want to give everything. Remember last year I was instantly booked - such was my desire to give my best! Often before the game I still feel the desire to sing the anthem as I did many times in the Curva. Laziali are unbeatable. I remember when we were escorted before arriving at the Olimpico for the game against Fenerbache, it was a spectacular moment."

If you were to play in the final?
"I better not! However it is impossible to be afraid with this shirt!"

Are you ready for Serie A?
"That is not for me to decide, you need to ask the coach. I have received many tips from teammates, espescially Klose, but I have still to improve alot."

Is this the best moment so far with Lazio?
There have been many moments so far. Against Siena in the Coppa Italia when we were in a difficult situation, needing a goal and risking elimination, the coach turned to me even though I was the youngest there. I was pleased with how it finished. Another good memory was in the final eight with the Primavera and the goal in Derby although in the end we couldn't win the title."

Do you think the renewal was luck or do you deserve it?
"It think I deserve it! That is for sure."
