Negotiations between Lazio Director of Sport, Iglie Tare and Serie B side Empoli have taken place and have ended in a stalemate, according to ANSA. As reported yesterday by LazioLand.com, a meeting was scheduled to take place as Lazio pursue the Empoli left-back Elseid Hysaj, but with no previous negotiations or offer, it was an opportunity for both parties to see if a deal could be concluded. Thus far, it seems like both sides are far apart in their estimations of Hysaj, but a deal could yet be done.

Meanwhile ANSA also mention that Antonio Candreva is a target for Manchester United and Napoli, with Udinese confirming yesterday that the Italian side have made previous enquiries into the availability of the winger who is co-owned between Udinese and Lazio.

In other news, Federico Marchetti returned to Rome following a moderately successful Confederations Cup campaign in Brazil. He was visiting the Paideia clinic ahead of his vacation to ensure that he had a clean bill of health before the new season begins. Marchetti spoke briefly to the media and the interview is found in La Repubblica:

"For sure, we had a good tournament but it is a shame that we lost on penalties. It is an eperience, we are a large group and I think we had fun."

"We will start the new season strong because we immediately face the strongest side, and they have been reinforced. We know our ability and we will play to lift the cup. We have to start with the right motivation to achieve important objectives."

la Repubblica also note that Emiliano Alfaro has returned to Lazio, but is attracting interest from clubs in Dubai.
