05/07/2013: Cragnotti: "Sell Hernanes and buy someone stronger"
email print

Former Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti advises Lazio should sell star player Hernanes and simply replace him with 'someone stronger'. Cragnotti was Lazio's most successful president despite running the club into bankruptcy at the turn of the millenium.

"Faced with an indecent proposal, I would sell Hernanes and buy someone stronger. This was my policy. If a player was leaving I brought another of equal value."

Cragnotti was asked about Lazio's lack of sponsorship and the ongoing stadium saga. Cragnotti told Radio Mana Mana:

"A sponsor on the shirts? It can never bring harm either economic or morally, but it is necessary to expand the team logo. The stadium? There is too much bureaucracy in Italy which is why foreign investors are going elsewhere. Moreover, to build a facility for football, you do not need to build a citadel...."
