16/07/2013: Auronzo di Cadore: Day 5

The morning session is kicked off with some more ball control exercises which seems to be a rolling theme of pre-season training. Yesterday, we saw Vinicius get a literal ass-kicking for his weak attempts as punishments between the players have been firmly established. Today, Mamadou Tounkara was on the receiving end of the punishment, firstly receiving a barrage of slaps to his head and secondly, receiving the now infamous ass-kicking. Once again, Michael Ciani got into it.

Immediately, a couple of injury concerns emerge. Abdoulay Konko and Emiliano Alfaro are just not 100% and return to the gym to train independently. Meanwhile, Petkovic continues with possession and pressure exercises, following these up with some strength-building tasks. By the end of the morning, the concern over Konko lessens but his condition will be closely monitored.

Both Konko and Alfaro train with the team in the evening. Again, possession exercises with accompanying forfeits are present until Petkovic decides to focus more closely on individual technique with a game of soccer tennis. To end the session, Petkovic creates small groups for friendly games. Thomas Strakosha and Guido Guerrieri impressed, making countless fine saves but at the same time, Libor Kozak and Emiliano Alfaro were scoring for fun.
