  27/07/2013: Kozak has English admirers

Libor Kozak's future at Lazio is uncertain. In February, the player expressed his desire to move away from Rome in order to further his career, suggesting that a lack of playing time was holding back his developement. Kozak was surprised that Claudio Lotito rejected a 6 million euro bid from Dinamo Moskva.

This summer, Udinese and Chievo have shown their interest but have been unable to do business for different reasons. Udinese said they were keen on Kozak but they admitted he would not be a starter at their club and therefore the player himself was disinterested. As for Chievo, the 8 million asking price is far beyond their reach although they have claimed that Lotito is not prepared to sell the Czech striker at any cost.

However, it appears that Kozak is surplus to Petkovic's requirements. In a training firendly last week, Kozak was the only senior and established player to be substituted which suggests that he has slipped down the pecking order despite finishing Lazio's Europa League campaign as the competition's top goalscorer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Kozak's future may lie in the Premier League. Paolo Di Canio's Sunderland have made an enquiry according to the newspaper, while Everton, Norwich and Liverpool are all in the market for strikers and may be tempted to launch a bid for Kozak.

It is believed that Kozak's sale is necessary to bring in the one player Petkovic wants - a viable alternative to Miroslav Klose. Tim Matavz of PSV remains the favourite for the transfer, with Eder of Braga close behind.
