On the same day another plane flew over the beaches of Rome reminding our cousins of the Coppa Derby win, another Derby was taking place on the beach. It was the Italian Beach Soccer Super 8 Scudetto final between Lazio and Roma. Lazio, led by Diego Maradona Jnr won the match 6-4 thanks to goals from Pasquali (2), Pampero, Leo, Gabriel and Ietri. Maradona Jnr finished the tournament as top scorer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that Romanian striker Ciprian Marica was approached by Lazio a few weeks ago, as the player himself confirmed he may play in Italy. Marica is currently a free agent after being released by Shalke and can play either out wide or upfront alone.
