30/08/2013: Petkovic: "Yilmaz is my first choice"
email print

Vladimir Petkovic has reportedly told Eurosport that he wants Burak Yilmaz to join him in Rome:

"Initally, with the arrival of Galatasaray's Director of Sport in Rome, things were positive but then there were problems and I do not know what they will do now. If the pursuit of Yilmaz goes to the last minute of the market, I will be happy. When I was in Turkey (as manager of Samsunspor), I really liked Sow (Moussa Sow of Fenerbahce) but Yilmaz has always been my favoured choice."

It remains to be seen if Lazio can poach Yilmaz, but the latest from unofficial media sources is that Lazio have submitted a 13 million euro bid plus Ciani and Floccari for the Turkish international. If accurate, it is unlikely this bid will be accepted as the inclusion of Ciani and Floccari will force Galatasaray into selling non-Turkish players in order to comply with registration rules.
