10/04/2011: Stendardo: "If we reach the Champions League, we have only ourselves to thank"

"I think I have done my part, when the coach calls me I try to always give my contribution in the game".

Stendardo has been called to start the game against Parma in place of the suspended Biava. He played alongside Dias and together in the defense they were a wall of rocks against Amauri.

"These are three important points that allow us to look with more optimism to our future," said Stendardo.

"It all depends on us, as it always has been. There are six difficult games left and they should be treated as finals. Next Sunday against Catania it will be a tough encounter as all teams now give their all towards the end of the season" continued the defender.

Lazio will find it a difficult battle to achieve the objective of qualifying to the champions league, especially when the team is never favoured by referees and ends up on the victim's side.
"If we finish the season and qualify for the champions league, we have only oursevles to thank. I think we need twelve points to garauntee the Champions League. We will be fighting with Udinese and Roma, who have the same ability and desire to achieve this goal. Ofcourse there is also Juventus, but they are a bit far behind" said the Lazio lawyer.

In a very tough week, the support of the fans was decisive to push the team to victory. Olimpico was nearly full, and the fans never stopped cheering. Something that Stendardo truly appreciated: "After Napoli it was important to win to prove to our fans that we never give up. I want to thank all of them today because they were truly fabulous." concluded Stendardo.
