Lazio want to claim 10 million Euros in damages from Mauro Zarate and Velez according to media.

It was announced, to the surprise of Lazio, that Zarate had signed for Velez on July 14th even though he had a year left to run on his contract.

Zarate had taken Lazio and Lotito to court to try and free himself from his contract accusing the management of bullying, however he lost the case. Despite this he still completed a transfer the following month back to Argentina.

The media report that Lazio are filing for compensation amounting to the maximum allowed by FIFA being 10 million Euros.

Lazio will have to take the case to the Camera di Risoluzione delle Controversie - a dispute resolution court which could take up to 6 months to get a hearing. Zarate and Velez are accused to breaking the terms of the player's contract.
