28/10/2013: Petkovic: "Klose did not save my job"
email print

Vladimir Petkovic has been under intense scrutiny in the last seven days, but he can breathe a sigh of relief as Lazio picked up three points in front of a tense home crowd, thanks to the efforts of Miroslav Klose:

"If we lost, we would not have done anything but talk. We won, so that creates some positivity but the pressure is only from the outside. In the beginning of the second half, we silenced that and managed to do what we wanted."

"Klose is a very important player, one of the leaders of the team, and I happy that despite the criticism, he manages to be a strong character. Did he save my job? I can tell you that I have never felt that I was at risk, and there's been no indication of that from the society."

"It was important to score as we know the team knows how to play and be aggressive. In the first half, and with the whistles, we lost ourselves. In the second half, I told the guys to go out and enjoy themselves and I congratulate them for believing."
