04/12/2013: Gonzalez out for a month
email print
It has been confirmed by the club via the official website that Alvaro Gonzalez will not feature again for Lazio in 2013. Tests have confirmed that the Uruguayan midfielder has fractured the second metacarpal in his left hand - the upper bone in the left index finger - and will therefore need a cast and an appropriate period of rest. 30-40 days is the estimation making the home tie with Inter on the 6th January an optimistic target for a return.

Meanwhile concerns over Stefan Radu's fitness have been allayed. The Romanian left-back was feeling pain in his left thigh following the Napoli game and tests were performed on his thigh muscles. This evening, the results came back and revealed that Radu is 100% fit and has no underlying issues. It is unlikely that Lazio will rest him as a precuation and therefore we can expect Radu to return to training tomorrow morning.
