  11/01/2014: Lazio eye Matri loan

According to Corriere dello Sport, Alessandro Matri could be a Lazio player by the end of the month.

The Milan forward has been in poor form since rejoining the club in a big money move from Juventus and his future at the club is up in the air as his main supporter in Max Allegri is set to leave his post at the end of the summer. AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has also admitted that the club have more than enough strikers and that they may be prepared to let one leave.

Corriere dello Sport believe Lazio are keen on securing Matri on loan with an option to buy him outright at the end of the season. Sergio Floccari's contract is set to expire in six months and he is currently on the market for three million euro and this has prompted Lazio to look at their forward options now, instead of waiting until Miroslav Klose makes a decision on his future.

Lazio could face some stiff competition for Matri, particularly from Fiorentina who are looking for a proven goalscorer to fill the void left by injuries to Mario Gomez and the league's top goalscorer, Giuseppe Rossi.
