"Rome is the most beautiful city in the world, and I am honored to wear the Lazio shirt, the shirt of the first team in the capital." said Stendardo who will be facing his old team Catania with whom he played in 2003-2004.
Asked about the Catania times, Stendardo said: "In Catania I grew so much as a man and as a player. I am very attached to the team and the city is beautiful." said Stendardo.
Asked about the last game with Parma, Stendardo stressed the importance of victory and thanked the fans. "Against Parma, the credit goes to everyone, the players played as a team and it was very sweet to win after the sour defeat at Napoli. I want to the thank the fans for all their support, they were truly the twelfth player." said Stendardo.
Now coming up are 6 difficult games with 4 of them being away games, and Stendardo knows it will be tough but believes in Lazio and in the ability of his teammates.
"We expect the difficult six games, including yes 4 away encounters, but I'm confident. I can feel the determination of the players. We we will give it our all to give joy to our fans. We're having a good season, a season where we did not expect to be at this position at this time, but we fully deserve our position. We are playing good games, and our skills are improved. On Sunday for instance, Hernanes has been in superb form, we all saw that, not only the fans." said Stendardo.
Discussing the battle for the fourth place, Stendardo said: "We should only focus on ourselves, let us look at the standings, we currently hold the 4th position, and as long as we win, we will keep that position. Despite the competition from Udinese, Roma, and even Juve, if we do our job well, we have nothing to fear."
Stendardo is happy with the love of the fans for him: "I thank God because I am a lucky man who got everything he wanted. I hear the screams of the fans when I am playing and despite the fact that I did not play much, when I do, they make me feel loved !"
