In the difficult atmosphere of the Stadio Artemio Franchi last night, came the third away win of the season for Lazio. This important 1-0 victory over Fiorentina comes at the end of a painful week when the club was dumped out of the Europa League in Bulgaria.

The win against the Viola moves Lazio up in the standings – and now Edy Reja and team believe sixth place is not that far away.

"It is a success that gives us peace of mind to go ahead. Our position has improved, we are slowly approaching the upper half of the table".

"I really liked the team in the second half. We had four or five chances to close out the match so we will need to practice this in trainings. I want more composure and decisiveness in front of the goal but overall it was a good Lazio side", stressed Reja at the end of the match

"I believe we displayed a solid performance today. We found a motivated opponent, even if they were missing some important players, and we closed them down very well", stated Reja upon reflection of the grueling match in Florence.

Reja was then asked about his sides recent elimination from the Europa League and also the chances of European qualification come the end of this season;

"We have suffered some fierce criticism recently and the boys wanted to respond. They did it in the best way possible, a victory away from home and without an important player like Klose".

We believe in it. We will try until the very end as we are committed to achieving this goal", concluded Reja.
