07/03/2014: Brocchi is on Lotito's side?

This player spent five years with the blue-white shirt. He is a leader of men, a true warrior, he is Cristian Brocchi.

The Lazio fans loved him from day one because he never stopped fighting on the field. He gave his last drops of energy for Lazio and after that he ended his career. Brocchi has had problems with Milan’s president and knows what it is to play in such conditions and was asked about the similar problems which Lazio have right now:

“Everyone have their own reasons – the fans and the president but all of these problems will only harm the players who must go out and play on the field and not think about what is happening behind the curtains.”

Asked if the team will feel abandoned at the Olimpico stadium against Atalana Brocchi answered:

“The president Lotito acts in a manner which is best suited for his management ideas of Lazio. The fans see things differently and don’t like what he is doing. As a player I have never liked such situations because it’s an honour to play in front of a full stadium and it gives you more energy which is enough to make your opponent feel afraid.”

Asked if this protest is good or bad for the club Brocchi answered:
“Such protests are never good for a club. A negative atmosphere is created which affects everyone and everything. It’s a matter of question to understand what can be done to achieve the club’s goals. Considering the positions taken by Lotito through the years he will never change his way of thinking. It’s always gone his way despite all the protests from the fans. There has never been a calm atmosphere between Lotito and the fans.”

“I think that the fans still can dream but not about the Cragnotti Lazio. In an economic crisis like this you can never see that club with all those star players come back any time soon. This is the time where the fans should try to bury the hatchet with Lotito.”

“Lazio can’t afford to buy big star players. They sold players like Kolarov and Lichtsteiner to such clubs but you can still see football icons like Klose at the club. This is the time where the main goal of the club should be to mend the relationship between the fans and the president of Lazio even though this looks quite difficult to happen in the moment.”
