So far only 2,000 tickets have been sold for the Atalanta match at the Stadio Olimpico and while the disputes continue, Edy Reja has made an appeal to the Lazio fans in the press conference ahead of the clash – that Europa League qualification is so close and that the team needs the fans support.
"The stadium being so empty will be bad for the heart. I hope this protest ends soon because we need to achieve our goals. I spoke with the President and there seems to be some good sense on the part of everyone", stated Reja.
"The deafening silence against Sassuolo was hard and now it will be the same with Atalanta, but even more difficult this time around I believe. There is still time to buy match tickets".
"As I was driving to Formello earlier on today I heard the song on the radio – ‘Lazio, you'll never be alone’. In this period of time we really need everyone’s support. Everyone must make their own evaluation and results can only change the minds of fans, but I hope tomorrow that they decide to come to the stadium and support the team", stressed Reja.
"We want to open an important window between ourselves and the rival clubs fighting for European qualification", confirmed Reja. "We are rising to the top of the league and all the remaining games are still open, even though I know it will be difficult".
Atalanta coach Stefano Colantuono also spoke to the media ahead of the match. "Lazio is a well oiled team with good values installed by Reja. It will not be easy for either side as we will be playing without an audience. We must remain positive as we are in a period of growth. Lazio is charged and every player will have a strong drive tomorrow I believe. We need to win to follow up with our good recent results", concluded Colantuono.
Reja is expected to field another 4-3-3 formation that won Lazio all three points in Florence last weekend. Marchetti is now fully fit and has been restored to the starting spot between the goal posts ahead of Berisha. In defense, Konko and Radu will be the full backs with Biava and Cana being paired in the heart of the Biancocelesti defense. As Ledesma is out of the squad following his injured knee, Biglia will start in his place and will be accompanied by fellow internationals Onazi and Gonzalez. Candreva and Lulic will help support Klose in attack (who is likely to start after overcoming a minor chest injury).
