A big party will be held at the Stadio Olimpico which will see past and present Biancocelesti players and coaches come together to commemorate the first Scudetto which was won 40 years ago. The event is titled ‘From Father to Son’ and will take place on the 12th of May.
"We tried to gather three generations of players. From those who won the Italian Cup in 1958, the 1974 Scudetto winning team, and so on", stated former captain Giuseppe Wilson, who is helping organise the event.
The event has been put together following a long awaited initiative by Lazio supporters, including the children of club legends Giorgio Chinaglia and Luciano Re Cecconi, and has already sold about 35,000 tickets.
Popular and much loved former players Alessandro Nesta, Juan Veron, Ruben Sosa and Giuseppe Signori will be present, as will three of the current generation – Stefan Radu, Cristian Ledesma and Keita Balde Diao. The club eagle Olimpia will be there as well. Former coach and player Eugenio Fascetti will also be returning to the Olimpico for this event, as will the more recent Delio Rossi.
"The invitation was put forward to the club for those three players (Radu, Ledesma and Keita) to attend and thus give continuity to the generation of Lazio. They are the ones we choose because we see them as the most attached to the Biancocelesti shirt", stated Wilson.
"The 'From Father to Son' event is not only an occasion to celebrate the boys of the 1974 Scudetto team, but everyone who has played a role in the history of Lazio. The proceeds will be donated to several non profit organisations including the association of So.Spe", concluded Wilson.
