08/07/2014: Edson Braafheid is training with Lazio

Yesterday Pioli and the players who weren't at the World Cup in Brazil gathered for their first training before leaving for Auronzo. Lazio's new coach was surprised with a new defender.

Edson Braafheid (30) is a former player of Twente, Bayern, Celtic and Hoffenheim. He is a free agent at the moment and will go through a test period with Lazio and if Pioli is happy with what he sees from the Dutchman he will most probably sign a contract with Lazio.

Braafheid was part of Holland's team at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He played only 15 minutes in the final against Spain which Holland lost.
