The BBC claim that Claudio Lotito has told representatives of Ogenyi Onazi that the club are only prepared to sell the Nigerian midfielder if their valuation of him is met.
It has been reported in recent months that Lazio would be looking for a bid in the region of 10 million euro, but the latest rumour extends from the BBC's belief that Lazio have been in conversation with Onazi's agent, Jonathan Barnett.
Barnett, a high-profile player agent who lists the world's most expensive footballer Gareth Bale among his clients, is believed to have asked the club to offer Onazi a new contract with a significant pay increase, or to lower their asking price to facilitate a move elsewhere. It is believed Onazi is the lowest-paid first team player at Lazio, earning less than 4,000 euro per week.
In the last hour, unconfirmed reports from various Nigerian sources claim Onazi will be offered a new contract. The player himself has been keen to stress on social media in recent times that he has no intention of leaving Lazio.
