"I am happy to be here, I have worked hard for several years to come to a top club. I hope to repay the trust and I will give my best in training and on the field", stated Marco Parolo on his arrival at the club.

Parolo and Lazio is a marriage finally announced, but one which had been postponed several times. Lazio had been following him since his Cesena days and continued to monitor his progress during his time at Parma.

At
age 29, and after a prolonged long distance communication with the player during the World Cup in Brazil, he finally signed and arrived with big ambitions of the project that Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare are constructing at the club. He signed a 5 year deal which would likely see him end his footballing career at the club.

Parolo has a strong physical presence on the field, is technically gifted, charismatic and guarantees goals. Some football experts have compared his characteristics to those similar of Steven Gerrard, who Parolo claims is his favourite player and who he looks to for inspiration.

His transfer to Lazio went through with relatively little media attention but his addition to the Biancocelesti midfield is immense and strengthens the first XI whilst adding flexibility and solidness at the same time.

The upcoming season kicks off next weekend and already there is a lot of optimism and excitement in the blue half of Rome of what could potentially be achieved. One thing is for sure however, that Marco Parolo will be expected to play a key role in the squad from day one and all Lazio fans worldwide will be wishing him the best of luck.
