  20/09/2014: Primavera: Lazio 1-2 Bari
email print
A disappointing day for S.S. Lazio Primavera as the team went down 2-1 to Bari in a rare home defeat.

Lazio had put themselves in a good position for the win when Chris Oikonomidis opened the scoring in the 38th minute, but a quickfire double from Vito Leonetti after the break enabled Bari to leave Rome with three points.

Mamadou Tounkara started for Lazio Primavera, but was substituted at half-time. Manager Simone Inzaghi confirmed after the game that the Spanish striker was taken off as Inzaghi and Pioli agreed before the game that he would only play 45 minutes as he will travel to Genoa as part of the first team squad.

Inzaghi admitted that Lazio Primavera should not lose these games and should have killed this one off before letting Bari into it, but the Lazio Scudetto winner was keen to stress that it could be a difficult season for Lazio as the team is being rebuilt.

Both Miroslav Klose and Ogenyi Onazi were in attendance and watched on from the sidelines.
