  07/12/2014: Braafheid suffers knee injury

Edson Braafheid limped off towards the end of the first half in Lazio's 2-1 victory and assessments have revealed it is a significant knee injury.

Braafheid could not walk off the field, suggesting ligament damage and club doctor Stefano Salvatori had revealed on Sunday evening that the Dutch left-back had injured his MCL (medial collateral ligament).

The club applied a brace to the knee and conducted a further examination on Monday morning to determine whether the Dutchman had suffered a Grade I injury, which would sideline him for a few weeks, or a grade II injury that would put him out for two months.

Unfortunately the examination has revealed Braafheid has suffered a Grade II injury, therefore the 31 year-old will be out of action until early February.
