05/01/2015: Hoedt: 'Sell me to Lazio'
email print
For weeks now, AZ Alkmaar defender Wesley Hoedt has been linked to Lazio but today, we have the first indication that the 20 year-old Dutch centre-back could be set to sign for Lazio.

On the day when Il Messaggero claim there is a 1.5 million gap between Lazio's offer of 1.3 million and the Dutch club's 2.8 million demand, Hoedt has attacked management at AZ as it appears he could be frozen out of the team:

"It's not fair, I never thought of leaving, but I have been a regular for several months and now I am being cast aside without explanation. If the club have decided I should not play anymore, then it is only right that I be sold."

"I deserve more from the club. AZ could easily let me go to Lazio, but if this is their game, I can think about fighting. I have so many offers, big clubs in Holland are interested in me. If I decide to go, the club cannot do anything as the financial award [compensation for his training from AZ] applies only to international transfers."

"Staying in AZ does not suit me, or the club."
