Lazio President Claudio Lotito spoke to Lazio Style Radio about the team's chances of qualifying to the Champions League, and addressed the dispute with CONI.
Speaking to Lazio Style Radio Lotito said: "Sadly, after the defeat against Udinese, our fate no longer lies within our hands, but I still believe that there is a possibility to reach the Champions League. Now is the not the time to make judgements, now is the time to stay united, react to the loss by trying to win the remaining games and never lose hope."
Lotito clearly attributed the loss to reasons within the team: "We have lacked humility in some games, it seems as if there was a power outage from a competitive point of view. It is as if the team gave up, and this has left a negative psychological effect."
Lotito then moved on to discuss the dispute with CONI and hit out at the organization's way of dealing with Lazio: "Registering our UEFA license with Artimio Franchi as our home ground is not a smart way to run away from paying the debt as some pointed out. We are working towards a solution that fits both parties but we will not pay with a gun pointed to our head. I don't want to cause problems, but can someone explain why Milan and Inter have the possibility to use the stadium all days of the week, while we are restricted only for the match days ?"
Lazio had already issued a press release clarifying the reasons behind the issue.
