As the Champions League hopes fade and the dispute with CONI still goes on, Lotito was busy trying to raid the South American market for new talent.

Gazetta dello Sport reports that Lazio have offered 2.3m to Uruguayan club Nacional Montevedio for two of the brightest prospects in the nation, Nicolas Santiago Lopez and Saul.

Lopez is a forward while Saul is a playmaker and both are 17 years old. They are set to play in the World Under 20 Championship this summer in Colombia but Lazio want the deal secured before hand.

But if they never end up being used like Barreto, is it really worth investing in more Uruguayan youth? We have a very good Primavera team and none of that talent ends up playing a major part with the first team.
