  03/06/2011: Klose deal done?
email print

Il Corriere dello Sport today report that Miroslav Klose has agreed terms with Lazio. The only thing missing is a signature. An announcement is expected in the coming days to make the deal official. The information apparently came from L'equipe in France.

Klose left German giants Bayern Munich this summer after his contract expired. Bayern had offered him a one year deal at 4.5m and an option for a second but the Polish born striker turned down the deal as he was guaranteed a first team place. This was apparently the key to the Lazio deal. According to the Corriere dello Sport, Reja has assured him of a starting place in the line-up.

Should the transfer become official, Klose would earn 1.8 million per season with a 2 year deal.

This now means that Sergio Floccari looks ever more likely to leave Lazio. The Calabrese forward is being tracked by Parma, and while they will be put off by Lotito's 8 million price tag, they have several players reportedly of interest to Lazio. Dzemaili and Galloppa could find themselves entered into a trade between the two clubs.

It's not a good thing if we go around guaranteeing people a first team place. Next thing we know we have another Bresciano on our hands. On another note, IMO Klose adds very little to our attack if we cannot find wingers and full backs who can cross a ball.

However he also adds killer instinct in the box that we have been missing when we have been playing with Floccari and Zarate. In my opinion Rocchi is the only attacker that can score a normal goal. Klose will add a new dimension to our offensive as he can use his head along with his feet. In other words it is like mixing Floccari and Kozak into one person.
