25/06/2011: CONI: "Lazio can use Olimpico"
email print

Following the civil tribunal's ruling, CONI have confirmed that Lazio are clear to play at the Olimpico next season.

There have been many months of speculation as to where Lazio would play next season ever since Lotito registered the club at the Artemio Franchi in Florence. The capital club owed CONI, the stadium owners, 2 million Euros which Lotito refused to pay claiming it was 'extortion' since the deal has not been renegotiated since he took over the club.

The case went to the civil tribunal, after which CONI announced: "Thanks to the decree of the civil court we have the belief that the debt will be paid. Therefore Lazio can play at the Stadio Olimpico next season".

As of yet Lotito has not made a statement.
