Today reports on a potential sale of Lazio star Mauro Zarate has emerged from Spain. Repubblica.it confirms that the Argentinian has his agent, Beppe Bozzo, talking to the white and red team of the Spanish capital over a potential move. Atletico Madrid seem to be ready to let Sergio Aguero leave for Italian giants Juventus, and to replace the Argentinian another Argentinian seems to be of interest.
The Spanish club had contacted Bozzo earlier on and a meeting was scheduled in order to discuss the services of Cagliari shot-stopper Marchetti as the Spaniards expected their first choice goalie De Gea move to Manchester United this summer. Marchetti, who seems to be on the verge of signing for Lazio and therefore no longer available for Atletico Madrid, is not of interest any longer, but the agent has taken the opportunity to discuss with the Spanish representatives over the services of Mauro Zarate instead.
There is no concrete offer tabled yet, but it is expected that for a potential deal to happen a price tag of €20-25 million needs to be met before discussions between the two clubs would take part. Lazio president Claudio Lotito has not put Mauro Zarate on the transfer list, but he has stated that for the right price every player could become a potential target on the transfer market.
