03/07/2011: Gracious Berni thanks the tifosi
email print

Tommaso Berni has given an interview to Radio Sei in which he was incredibly complimentary towards the fans he has occasionally played under over the last five years:

"I have already started to train here, pre-season begins earlier here than in Italy. I feel a little pain but I am very happy."

"I spent five very happy years at Lazio and have had a wonderful relationship with the fans. I will never stop thanking them. I have read quotes and understand how they feel and I share in their suffering."

Regarding his departure, Berni was incredibly pragmatic:

"It takes two to make a marriage, I believe I have always behaved in an exemplary manner and have proven that I am ready for Serie A. In my role, I think it is hard to play on a Sunday once every three months. I am so sorry to leave but life goes on, I am now engaged with a new company and their way of thinking, I am very motivated and have a lot of anger to use now."

Berni also had kind words to say about the outgoing Fernando Muslera who LazioLand believe to be a Galatasaray player having agreed to swap shirts with Lorik Cana in a deal that should see Lazio fetch somewhere in the region of thrre million euro:

"I have always had a great relationship with Fernando, I think Lazio are losing out on this deal and I wish him the best of luck, especially for the Copa America."

LazioLand would like to extend our thanks to Tommaso Berni for his five years of service for our club and of course, we wish him the best of luck in the new challenge he has undertaken. Tommaso is a friend of our community, having participated alongside our very own Paolo Peroso in the "Eagles on Air" show for LazioStyle radio and we would also like to thank him for the contribution he has given to our community. Grazie Tommaso!
