According to Italian and Greek media, Djibril Cisse will be tomorrow in Rome to perform his medicals as the hurdles stopping the deal between Lazio and Panathinaikos have been solved.
It is reported by Il Messagero that the deal has been blocked due to bureaucratic issues held between the Greek club and Lazio. Both teams have reportedly agreed on a fee of 5.8 million euros on a period of three years according to il Corriere dello sport, but Il Messagero is reporting that the delay was due to the fact that Lazio has given bank garauntees for Panathinaikos in Rome, while the Greek club demanded garauntees in Greek banks.
Lotito when in Milan has been coy when asked about Cisse: "I did not file his contract yet." answered the Lazio patron.
The victim is Cisse and Lazio fans with both sides eager for the deal to come to conclusion and it appears it has. Cisse has not joined the Panathinaikos pre-season camp and his wife has already started moving their belongings to Rome according to Greek Media reports il Corriere.
Reja has already mentioned that Cisse remains missing and highlighted him as a target, and Cisse has reportedly spoken to the press and waived his goodbye to Greece.
"I will be in Rome on Monday" said Cisse. "I hope Panathinaikos wins the greek championship, I spent two years and I matured as a player. Athens has been more than great to me."
According to reports in Il Corriere Lazio will sign a four year contract with Djibril with the option to extend it till 2016. The french striker will earn around 2 million per season (2.1 million per seaso according to other sources).
