  14/07/2011: Official: Mendicino joins Gubbio

After having been absent from Serie B football for 63 years, the Umbrian side was promoted from Lega Pro to Italy’s second highest league after finishing first in the 2010/2011 campaign. Gubbio has now decided to strengthen their attacking line by bringing on Lazio youth product Ettore Mendicino on a loan stretching over the 2011/2012 season.

After featuring four times for the Lazio senior squad in 2008, Ettore Mendicino has been loaned out for two consecutive years to Crotone and Ascoli respectively, but unfortunately still awaits his breakthrough at the senior level as he has only scored five goals in the 46 games he has featured in since the 2009/2010 season.

We at Lazioland wish Ettore great success, and hope he will return next year as a developed and mature striker ready to wear the biancoceleste shirt.
