30/08/2011: Zarate to remain at Lazio
email print

30th of August. Hours before the closing of the market. After getting the services of Diego Forlan Inter have a little more time to acquire more men in attack. This is the desire of coach Gasperini, who after the loss of Chievo in a friendly said he’s expecting reinforcements in attack, as Samuel Eto’o is competed his move to Russia. Inter president Moratti also is quoted by corrieredellosport.it saying “The door is still open”. But this is one sign among others that Mauro Zarate will probably remain at Lazio. Lazio president Lotito is not willing to let go his diamond go on loan as he prefers a direct sale. Never the less it is his priority to sell out side Italy. And now the probable destination remains Arsenal as they have showed interest in the Argentinian before.

But at the end of the day a loan for Zarate could be on the cards. An estimated amount of around 4 million euros could see the striker move to another club on loan with an option to buy. It would be a big mistake for Lazio to let one of their stars that easily and for less money. The question is if Inter can afford to pay 4 million. The club is about to get 4.5 million euros from Newcastle for the sale of full-back Davide Santon. Muntari is also on the verge of leaving Inter for England with a transfer fee of 6 mil. In short words the Milan based club could launch a final offer for Mauro Zarate.

“There was strong interest for Mauro from Inter, but the options they presented did not meet the ones required from president Lotito. The president has made a major investment and is right to protect it. There are not many clubs willing to pay between 20 and 21 million for my client, so 99% he remains at Lazio” said Zarate’s agent Bozzo to Mediaset Premium.
