The 33-year-old striker picked up an injury to his knee during the game against Fiorentina and was ruled out of Germany's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Turkey and Belgium.

The coach of his national team Joachim Loew said, "Klose still feels pain in his knee. We have done everything to make Klose available for the game against Belgium, but we can't take risks".

The news comes as a bitter blow for Lazio as Klose had a brilliant start to this season. The striker scored 5 goals in 7 appearences so far this season, including winners against Cesena and Fiorentina.
