18/10/2011: Klose: We can win the title

The party at Formello continues as Cisse steps aside to make room for the hero Klose. “Lazio is really strong and can fight for the scudetto. We must keep our feet on the ground, but the victory against Roma can give as a boost. We will see in the next matches” – said the German forward quoted by repubblica.it.

Lazio has a game in League Europe coming up, but it’s still too early to forget the important win in the derby. “We won the derby, a game that is so fundamental and will be long remembered. I scored a decisive goal, one of the most important in my career” – said the forward. After all Klose was not happy with a banner that appeared in the stands ( “Klose mit uns” which resembles the Nazi “Gott mit uns” slogan ). “Football can not be mixed with politics. Politics must stay outside the stadium” – added the Panzer.

“I didn’t see what Osvaldo’s shirt said. Fortunately I didn’t have time to pull up mine” – continued the hero of Sunday night. “I don’t think anything will change after Sunday. I didn’t have time to go to Rome, but people stopped me before. I knew the Italian league is different from the Bundesliga, but I wanted a new challenge and I chose the Biancoceleste, because I saw the quality players they have. With all I’m in a very good relationship, even with Reja. I’m happy that the situation with the coach has settled. Like me he is a true professional, which is crucial” – continued Miroslav.

The win at the derby hasn’t misled Klose: “We must be realistic and take one step at a time. At the end of the season we will see what we will harvest. Of course I came to Lazio with the thought to become a champion. Juventus, Napoli, Lazio, AC Milan, Inter will fight until the end for the title”. Klose is also looking at the top goal scorer’s title: “We’ll see if I can win the title, but it will be difficult, because there are so many good attackers in Italy”. Then he went on commenting his partner in the Lazio attack – Cisse: “With Djibril there is no problem. He has great quality and has already proved to be important for the team”. His future plans: “In the meantime I will stay with Lazio for three years. Then as long as the legs still allow I will continue to play. I don’t know until when” – finished the German forward.
